It’s been many years in the making. And now Rita Clarke, along with her band, Mystic Ya Ya, are proud to present a compilation of some of their favorite cover tunes. These songs were beautifully arranged, recorded and presented with the heart, soul and conviction that only Rita and her band can lovingly bring to them.
Rita Clarke & Mystic Ya Ya is the latest in a prolific line of musical incarnations for this group from the mid-Atlantic region. C’est la vie features Rita with some of the area’s most prominent musicians, as well as a cameo by Hamiet Bluiett, the late jazz saxophonist for whom this album is dedicated.
The album title, C’est la vie, affirms that Rita and her Krewe are still a musical force to be reckoned with. Rita & Mystic Ya Ya invite listeners to sing, dance or just sit back and savor, as they bring alive some of the nation’s very best soulful music.
